The talking drum is a traditional drum that originated in West Africa.
It consists of a leather drum head connected by a string of leather cords.
Squeezing the leather cords allows the drummer to manipulate the drum's pitch.
Its ability to replicate a range of pitches in the Yoruba Language gives it its name.
